Shirt: Vintage Christian Dior via Urban Outfitters (w/ staff discount), £16 // Leggings: Urban Outfitters (w/ staff discount), £18 // Necklace: Miss Selfridge Sale, £2.50 // Ring*: c/o Ellise Vintage // Earrings: Urban Outfitters (w/ staff discount), £6 // Shoes*: c/o Koi Couture
I was delighted to be sent these absolutely amazing, black caged wedges by high street footwear brand Koi Couture. When it comes to wedges or heels I only ever usually tend to opt for black as it seems to go with everything, but I was yet to own a caged pair so Koi Couture have kindly filled the gap in my shoe collection for me. I worked out when I'm wearing these 6 inch beauties I'm a gigantic 6"3 tall! I never had a problem with wearing heels despite being rather tall for a girl already because my ex-boyfriend was 6"4 so it didn't particularly matter, now I'm a little dubious because I'll be towering over the majority of men. However, Victoria made the point this morning that women should not dress for men, but for themselves. That is certainly a philosophy I intend to follow anyway! I personally believe it's unfair that taller ladies should be denied the privilege and fun of wearing sky-scraper wedges.
I've worn this shirt before in a previous post open which you can see here. It was such a lucky find in the Oxford Street Urban Outfitters considering it's vintage Christian Dior and I only paid around £16 for it! I'm also wearing my YSL 'Arty' style ring once again from Ellise Vintage. I absolutely love it and have received a ton of compliments on it already! Speaking of YSL, it seems like the fashion world is in a right huff about Yves Saint Laurent officially re-branding themselves as Saint Laurent Paris, so they're changing from 'YSL' to 'SLP'. What are your opinions on this? Personally, I think their re-brand is an awful idea. 'YSL' is a classic household name and in my opinion it seems they had no reason to need to change at all. Let's face it, 'YSL' also rolls off the tongue so much better too!
Love! You always look so stylish and immaculate - I am incredibly jealous! :)

Oh my heavens such a lovely post, you look absolutely amazing in these pictures! Your hair and your shirt are ever so lovely and remind me of Florence! And those wedges!! I've got a similar pair from Topshop I've probably over paid for and yours are so much nicer. Must learn to shop around and not succumb to Topshop stuff all the time!

wow that shirt is literally amazing! And I do have to agree with what you are saying about YSL, or should i say SLP - it seems rather pointless and is more likely to cause confusion rather than to create a new brand image.

That shirt was MADE FOR YOU GURRRRRRL. Also, your hair looks such a nice colour in these photos xx

Those shoes are amazing and I'm so jealous of your shirt, it looks fantastic on you! xx
ReplyDeleteI love this shirt SO much!! Looks so easy to wear. Also agree with you on the YSL front, so ridiculous. x
ReplyDeleteTHAT SHIRT IS AMAZING! What an unbelievably lucky find. I have some shoes similar to these too and I absolutely love them, they're SO comfortable I can wear them all night long without my feet aching. Unfortunately I've worn them to death now so I need to get some new ones haha. I totally feel your 'tall girl' pain too; I'm 5'10 with no shoes and my boyfriend is 'only' 6'1 so when I wear 5/6 inch heels I'm taller than him :( so annoying and I know girls should dress for themselves but c'mon - can't be taller than my boyfriend! haha. I also think the rebranding of 'YSL' is stupid, like you said everyone recognises it as a classic brand. It seems a shame to change it x

That shirt is WELL GOOD! And the shoes too. And you're hair looks well nice like that. I didn't hear about YSL rebranding, it sounds like a silly idea to me!

your**** ugh as if I just did that
DeleteThe shirt is amazing! I love the wedges too. XO
ReplyDeleteSuch a great shirt!

Can't believe that necklace is now only £2.50 - need to pop down there asap! x
ReplyDeleteThat shirt was such an amazing find! And those shoes are lovely too. I'm quite upset that YSL are rebranding, I don't see the need. YSL is so iconic and they should keep it in honour of the man himself. He was a genius and I think it's actually disrespectful xxx
ReplyDeleteThis is such an amazing post Leigh! You're so talented in every aspect of blogging. The layout of your blog is perfect, your style is perfect, you're such an eloquent writer too, and you are so beautiful too! I covet most of your wardrobe by now haha!
