Last month I was invited along with my beautiful mum for a complimentary afternoon tea at Patisserie Valerie at The Brewery in Romford in celebration of Mother's Day. The Brewery, which isn't too far from my hometown, holds a lot of nostalgia for me; in fact, I can even remember it first being built when I was a child! Since then it's gained several new additions including Patisserie Valerie.
After some mooching around the shops, we arrived at Patisserie Valerie, which boasted a pretty daunting queue. Luckily we had a table pre-booked, which I would thoroughly recommend on a popular weekend such as Mother's Day! Although Patisserie Valerie is a chain that has several venues, this was my first time visiting. After a little confusion upon our arrival, we were swiftly shown to our reserved table tucked away in the corner.
Due to it being Mother's Day weekend, the Patisserie was heaving with families and was rather noisy. Unfortunately due to the business, we were waiting half an hour before we had to grab a member of staff's attention to ask when we could expect our afternoon tea. Thankfully, the magnificent, towering afternoon tea arrived in good time after asking.
The afternoon tea for two itself displays a selection of cakes, scones and sandwiches on a three tier display. On top of this you are supplied with an endless supply of tea or coffee, which I was certainly a fan of! The food and cake selection was delicious and there was enough to keep us comfortably full up.
