Technology reviews aren't usually my thing, but when the opportunity to review a Penclic B3 mouse landed in my inbox, I was intrigued.
As a digital marketer and social media manager by day and a blogger by night, it's fair to say I spend a lot of my time in front of a computer screen. A lot of bloggers like myself are in the same boat with digital based careers meaning without realising there is a lot of pressure and strain on our hands, which are consistently curled in an unnatural and uncomfortable position over our mouse, touchpad and keyboard. This motion can lead to severe RSI (repetitive strain injury), which can cause aches in your wrists and fingers, as well as long term damage.
Looking after your hands and wrists isn't something you really consider as a blogger or digital worker, but it's something we should really take more care over. The Penclic B3 mouse is designed to prevent repetitive injury strain as the hand sits in a more natural, comfortable position whilst using.
Upon initial inspection, the mouse sits more like a pen in a stand or on a small travel mouse. To use it, you hold it as you would a pen but you guide the entire mouse across your desk space. The buttons are placed alongside the pen feature, which can take a little while to get used to. The scrolling wheel, situated between the two main buttons, also acts as a third middle button as well as a facility to scroll down windows.
As a bluetooth mouse, it works wirelessly via a bluetooth receiver that plugs into your USB port. This means no messy wires and cables across your desk or when you're working on the move. It also claims to be suitable for both left and right handed users. I'm right-handed, so I can support it's claim for right-handed folk as I've been using it in place of my touchpad for the past week.
I must admit, after using a touchpad on my Macbook for years, it was a little difficult for my hand to get used to the workings of the B3, but after a few hours of practice it became a lot easier and more comfortable on my hand. The B3 comes with a rechargeable battery that you re-charge by simply plugging into a USB port, so I just leave mine charging on my laptop whilst I'm away from it.
It's both Mac & PC compatible and comes with a fair two year warranty.

This is such a cool idea! After 13 years in retail, I have a desk job and I can already feel a change in my wrists since I started sitting at a computer all day.
