When visiting Paris last month, we were lucky enough to have the weather on our side as we were treated to three days of consistent sunshine. In fact, I was more sunburnt from my jaunt in Paris than I was from my trip to Ibiza. This meant I could dress for the summer, for what is likely to be the last time this year, whilst wandering around the city and taking in the sights.
I picked up this little velvet dress in the Zara sale around a year or so ago and it actually featured in an outfit post here. The past year I made the decision to slow down my spending on clothes in order to have more money to travel the world instead. I mean, it has worked as I'm hitting up my 11th city break (no.9 of my '12 in 12' mission though) since the March next, but it's meant I've had to get creative and rediscover some older pieces that I already have in my existing wardrobe. Hence the reason why I'm re-introducing this little red number.
As I was galavanting around the French capital by foot however, I had to consider what I was wearing on my feet. Even though I typically love a pair of ankle boots, they tend to destroy my feet after walking over 15 km per day, so I had a browse through the trainers sale via Love The Sales before I left. I had been coveting a pair of black Old Skool Vans for quite a while, so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to snap them up before my next city trip. Admittedly, I did have to wear them in before Paris and they did initially give me blisters on the back of my heels but now they're perfectly comfortable! They're also one of the few pairs of trainers/sneakers that I feel like I can just throw on with a dress and they'll go, unlike a lot of other trainers.
